The Battle of Jersey, fought on January 6, 1781, was a very short engagement, with the main combat and final British victory lasting only about 15 minutes. While French troops arrived in St Helier in the early morning, the direct confrontation was swift once British forces led by Major Francis Peirson organized, ending within a quarter of an hour.
